A fruitful dialogue

Understanding musicians’ needs is our main goal when creating our instruments. We constantly strive for perfection to help professionals finding their ideal companion.

Our collaboration with Quartetto Indaco, a successful and talented ensemble, is an essential tool for our growth. Their broad and dynamic repertoire, paired with strong and unique personalities, supports us finding new solutions to fulfill players’ necessities and desires.

Made with love.

Played with love.

  • I commissioned and bought my Gibertoni&Nalin cello in 2020 (Francesco Ruggeri 1696 model) and I could not be more pleased. Stefano and Valerio have taken to account all my wishes and the cello turned out to be just how I wanted it.

It has a strong and deep sound, it’s very responsive and easy to control. The cello has a big volume range, therefore fits perfectly in chamber ensembles as well as orchestras.

  • Having played at least 10 violins from the Gibertoni&Nalin workshop, every one a gem, I had to put my money where my mouth is and buy one.

Playing my own newly purchased Gibertoni&Nalin violin is a constant, joyous voyage of discovery. It is beautiful to look at, has a gorgeous tone, is even across all strings and oozes pure quality.

The Gibertoni&Nalin workshop is a fine advert for modern violin makers. If I spent five times the price on an antique violin, it would be difficult to match this level of excellence.

    Thank you Stefano and Valerio.

  • Their hands are very different, but they touch the wood with the same mastery.

This synergy of two important and unique personalities gives their instruments a complete sound, rich in colors and shades, warm, powerful and regal.

Playing them I have the strong feeling of being wrapped in a precious velvet cloak.

  • I met Maestri Gibertoni and Nalin some years ago.

From the very beginning I was struck by their technical competences, their passion, their positive and propositive attitude. In these few years I was fortunate to see and I had the pleasure to try some of their cellos.

What I can personally ascertain, is that Gibertoni&Nalin cellos are magnificent instruments, with an even, warm tone that is full of character. They help the musician to produce a clear, precise, and clean sound; for both the quality and quantity of tone, they put themselves among the great italian violin- making production.

For all these reasons I acquired one of their spectacular cellos.

Giovanni Marziliano, Cellist - Assistant Leader, La Verdi Symphony Orchestra - Milan, Italy

  • My Gibertoni violin is a pleasure to play.

It has power, direction, and is even on all strings whilst always remaining sensitive to the bow.

  • Stefano Gibertoni and Valerio Nalin are producing breathtakingly beautiful instruments that sound as good as they look. The craftsmanship is stunning, with great attention to detail, beauty of form, and eye-wateringly beautiful varnish.

Above all else, these are instruments that support and enhance the intention of the player, offering incredible resonance, breadth of tone and immediacy of response in every register.

I feel inspired every time i pick up my 2021 Gibertoni&Nalin cello and feel that i have found a true musical partner in this marvellous work of art.

  • Chihiro Ajiki

I purchased my Gibertoni cello in 2004 and I have played his lovely cello for a long time,

I really like bright sound, clear pronunciation and so on. Fortunately, I met Stefano in 2016 and, wanting a more powerful sound, I aked him to set a new Belgium bridge from a French one. I’m so happy I can play the cello powerfully without useless force and sound became brighter and clearer. Now my cello blends well when I play as soloist, in ensembles (quartet especially) and orchestra.

I recently met the excellent makers Stefano Gibertoni and Valerio Nalin. Their instruments are rich with details and finely executed. They stand out for the optimal choice of mterials and for a beautiful deep and luminous varnish. Such a sweet and powerful sonority!

I’ve Now Purchased another violin from Gibertoni and Nalin. It’s a different model to my other Gibertoni instrument. This del Gesu’ design has a magnificent warm and generous sound. It’s extremely responsive and dynamic and having owned this instrument for a few weeks I am only just beginning to discorver the depth and range of its abilities. Every string has a unique character which complements the others. The G is powerful, dark and warm, the E is especially sweet, open and generous. These makers clealy care deeply about their art. It shows in the way this violin responds, and keep giving. It is an absolute pleasure to own and play this instrument. Thank you Stefano and Valerio!

  • Gianni De Rosa

My Gibertoni&Nalin viola is a magnificent copy of Andrea Guarneri’s ‘‘Conte Vitale’’.

Its lavish sound reflects its look: broad, deep and ductile. From the tenor to the alto tones, the instrument’s voice has an unique texture, that magnifies it both in the solo repertoire and in chamber ensembles.

  • The love for music and especially for violin making has pervaded my family for over four generations. Many are the makers we encountered in our path. From time to time, if you are lucky, you may find a good craftsman; if you are more than lucky you might meet a true artist.

As St. Francis said: ‘‘He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.’’

For that reason I feel blessed for having met two Artists: Stefano and Valerio are exquisite and humble human beings able to instill a soul into their instruments.

Stefano and Valerio, I will jealously enshrine your gorgeous cello: a noble and deep instrument, with a lively and somehow brazen temper.

  • Stephanie March

I purchased my Gibertoni cello in 2014 and was immediately struck by the incredible focus and clarity of the sound. It is a wonderfully versatile instrument, responsive and easy to play, and fits perfectly into solo, chamber and orchestral settings alike. I fell in love with the warmth and richness of tone which has only continued to open up and mature in the years since i discovered the cello. The timbre is seamlessly consistent from bottom to top. I look forward to many more years of musical fulfillment with this beautifully crafted instrument!

  • I was delighted to make the acquaintance of Stefano and to discover his extraordinary craftsmanship.

It is rare that I see modern instruments of this calibre, and I was delighted to purchase a violin which I greatly enjoy playing.
